I often overlook “differences.” Most of the time, it is because I am not observing carefully, lack knowledge, or simply am not paying attention. Even when I notice a difference, I tend to forget it soon after.
In early autumn 2022, I lost the memory card containing every landscape I had photographed during five days in Hokkaido. More than losing the record itself, it felt as if part of the experience had also been erased.
As a child, I was repeatedly told to apply paint until the texture of the canvas disappeared. The act of applying paint may contain my own desire to cover or conceal something.
