Sight

In Sight, I depict crowds using images drawn from the scenes around me, as well as from the internet and magazines. On streets and in squares, individual voices, habits and expressions become difficult to distinguish, and people enter view as a group of similar figures. Yet variations in contour and posture do not disappear; each body remains within the anonymous whole.

I build the image as though allowing paint to seep into the canvas, blurring the boundary between the figures and their surroundings. The person seen as an individual and the person seen as part of a crowd thus coexist within a single image.
